We believe that people, especially young people, can change the world... one small donation at a time

Although many people are eager to give to needy projects around the world, it is often difficult to figure out what impact a small donation could really have. Faced with a plethora of options without a clear way of discerning which gift will result in the greatest impact, many either do not get involved with philanthropy or donate to charities without knowing how their money is being spent.

Jolkona Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that addresses this situation by giving individuals control over their donations, connecting them to a variety of innovative projects that are committed to showing a one-to-one proof of impact for each donation. By empowering youth to give back and to see the impact their gifts can make on the world, we hope to inspire a new generation of giving. All donations to Jolkona Foundation are fully tax deductible.

To build awareness and mobilize our youth to support successful community development projects around the world.

Jolkona Foundation's goal is to provide our users with low-cost-but-high-impact philanthropic options so users can see a tangible proof of impact for your every donation. We partner with existing projects around the world to create the affordable donation options. As a member of the Jolkona Community, you can pick from our portfolio of projects, give to those projects, and then have the project report back your impact.

You pick the partner projects to support based on various personal preferences such as country, category, and cost.

Give to projects
You then give to selected projects from within the Jolkona website using our simple checkout process.

Jolkona Foundation is committed to showing impact for every gift. We work hard with our partners to create a proof of impact that is easy to implement and meaningful to you. You can not only see your own individual impact but also the impact others in the Jolkona Community have made.

Why Jolkona Foundation?

Jolkona Foundation addresses two problems pervasive in our society:

1. Donors often lack feedback regarding how their small donations are implemented.
2. Donors are faced with a plethora of options without easy ways to distinguish between various charitable gift options.

By focusing on small-scale gift options that show a direct impact, Jolkona Foundation allows donors to have direct control over where and how their donations are spent. With Jolkona Foundation, the giving experience starts where most foundations stop. Through the "My Jolkona" feature, users can check in on the progress of their donations and thus become more deeply engaged in the giving process. They can then check the Impact section of the website to see the total impact of all Jolkona Foundation members’ small donations, reinforcing the concept that every drop does truly count.

Jolkona Foundation is committed to being transparent with its finances. We ensure that our donors know exactly where their donations are going - 100% of project-specific donations go directly to the projects. Donors can, however, donate separately to the Kona Fund which helps to cover our operation costs. In the near future, we plan to display our budget online and make it easily accessible, without hiding it in long financial statements.

Lastly, Jolkona Foundation finds projects that are using creative approaches to alleviate socio-economic problems for you. Furthermore, we conduct due diligence in selecting our partners by ensuring that they:

• Meet 501(c)3 equivalency requirements
• Are not associated with terrorist activities or listed in terrorist databases
• Have a solid track record delivering on commitments
• Have low overhead costs
• Involve project(s) that improve individual productivity
• Operate in one or more of these 5 broad areas: a) empowerment, b) public health, c) education, d) cultural identity, and e) environment.
