Jolkona connects you with global philanthropic opportunities and shows the impact of your donations.
Jolkona Foundation makes it easy for you to give directly to low-cost, high-impact philanthropic opportunities around the world. We work with carefully chosen partner organizations to create affordable donation options with a measurable impact, from planting trees in Honduras to providing food and housing for an HIV-positive child in Cambodia. 100% of your donation goes to the project you’ve chosen.
Unlike most nonprofits, at Jolkona, the giving experience starts after the check is written. We work with our partners to honor your donation by providing proof of impact (such as a picture, a video or a story) for every donation through our personalized website. Through My Jolkona, you can check on the progress of your latest gift and keep track of past donations, so you’ll know the impact you’ve made. You can also see the total impact of donations from the entire Jolkona Community.
"Jolkona" means "drop of water" in Bengali. It represents the idea that when it comes to charitable giving, "every drop counts." We hope that our approach to philanthropy – facilitating small donations with a big impact and a personal connection – will help usher in a new era of giving, where donors feel more inspired to give, charitable organizations are able to efficiently connect to a broader donor base, and those in need of help benefit from a larger donor pool.
We also believe that the youth of today can play a critical role in changing the face of philanthropy into a more accountable and inclusive vision. By harnessing the power of technology to connect with global causes, we hope to empower young people with the knowledge that you don’t have to wait to be a philanthropist. Why Give through Jolkona?
Jolkona addresses two of the biggest problems that we face as donors:
- We often lack feedback on how our small donations are implemented.
- We are faced with a plethora of options without easy ways to determine which charities are the best ones to trust with our money.
Jolkona provides feedback and transparency for your donations. By focusing on small-scale gift options that show a direct impact, we allow you to have direct control over where and how your donations are spent.
Jolkona is also committed to being transparent with our finances. You know exactly where your donations are going - 100% of project-specific donations go directly to the projects. You can, however, donate separately to the Kona Fund, which helps us cover our operation costs.

Jolkona helps you find projects that are using creative approaches to alleviate socio-economic problems. Furthermore, we conduct due diligence in selecting our partners by ensuring that they:
- Meet 501(c)3 equivalency requirements
- Are not associated with terrorist activities or listed in terrorist databases
- Have a solid track record delivering on commitments
- Have low overhead costs
- Involve project(s) that improve individual productivity
- Operate in one or more of these 5 broad areas: a) empowerment, b) public health, c) education, d) cultural identity, and e) environment.
