The Need
Women make up half of the society and yet, face glass ceilings in their advancement and development, suffering from all sorts of injustices all over the world in a male-dominated society. The conditions are worse in developing countries like Pakistan when countless cases of torture and injustice to women are witnessed everyday and everyone is aware of the state of women in society. The prevailing circumstances demoralize young women with fear and hopelessness to live up their goals with confidence.
About 4Girls GLocal Leadership
Partner since January, 2011
4Girls GLocal Leadership (4GGL) is a social change organization and the only movement valuing and investing in the world’s poorest girls as a powerful lever to bring about profound change our world needs. Its mission is to ignite, cultivate, and promote girls' leadership development locally in poor countries, to advance gender equity globally. It is also a bold social change movement – the 4GGL Movement - to value and invest in the world's poorest girls, tackling the root of gender inequity, not just the symptoms of poverty and injustice the girls suffer. Founding Director, Jin In, launched 4GGL because girls are NOT valued in many societies. From aborting baby girls and acid attacks to child marriage and sex trafficking, girls’ fundamental human rights are violated every day. Therefore, 4GGL is brining a new vision - a world where every girl’s inherent worth and leadership potential is recognized, providing girls the opportunity to empower themselves and change their world. We are a multigenerational women’s leadership model that trains and mentors local young women in developing countries as "4GGL Local Trainers" - local agents for change and future women leaders.
