Transform the Lives of Bolivian Children
Before coming to the Friends of Orphans home, most of the children face really difficult and sad situations in their past. In order to find a way back to normal life in their new home, psychologists are on staff that help the children. You can help transform the lives of these kids by sponsoring sessions with a psychologist for one child.

The Need
Many of the children supported by Friends of the Orphans may have lost parents in traumatic situations; witnessed death and violence; or suffered abuse. Often times they need professional help to understand these experiences and be able move on and to lead a more normal life going forward. Psychologists typically need about 6 months of individual therapy with a child, in addition to group workshops covering topics such as values, sexual education, and positive behavioral skills.
About Friends of Orphans
Partner since March, 2011
Friends of the Orphans is dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children through the support of the Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH, Spanish for "Our Little Brothers and Sisters") network of orphanages in Latin America and the Caribbean. Friends of the Orphans supports the NPH homes and their outreach programs through fundraising and volunteer efforts. Together, they transform the lives of NPH children by creating families for life through values of unconditional love, shared responsibility and education. This enables children to grow into caring and productive members of their communities. Every day, Friends of the Orphans supports more than 3,700 children in Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru. Since its founding in 1954, NPH has assisted nearly 16,000 children. In 2010, NPH outreach programs assisted over one million children and adults in Haiti alone.
