Support Orphans in Kenya
The Baraka Children's Center and its director support local orphaned children, many of whom are HIV positive, with foster placements and crucial supplies such as food, clothing, shoes, and books. Your donation will support adequate healthy meals essential to sick children on HIV medication, clothing, and school fees so that orphaned children can attend the local school.

The Need
Mtito Andei, Kenya is a barren area situated halfway between Mombasa and Nairobi where HIV/AIDS has spread through the community, killing parents, creating orphans, and infecting the unborn. In Kenya, there are over a million children who have been orphaned by AIDS. Children who lose one or both parents are traumatized, alone, and feel lost. The director of Baraka Orphanage has placed over 1,800 orphaned children with temporary guardians who offer accommodation. However, while finding safe and healthy foster homes for each orphaned child, there is a huge need for food, clothing, and school supplies.
About Global Roots
Partner since March, 2011
Global Roots improves the lives of disadvantaged children by supporting local humanitarians in places where children are suffering due to neglect, famine or civil strife. The best way to bring about positive change is to provide assistance to proven humanitarians who have already taken the first step to help needy children. The children helped by Global Roots suffer from a shortage of food, clothing, medical care, education, and family support. They are victims of starvation, poor living conditions and all kinds of abuse including sexual predation. Global Roots mission is to work with partners to give exploited children the best chance at a normal life. These humanitarians are the real heroes and it is through them that Global Roots works to protect the world's most valuable asset: its children.
