Give High School Education to Zambian Children
Help educate the rural children of Zambia. Since there are no high schools in rural areas of Zambia students need to travel to other near by villages. A gift of $240 will provide a rural high school student a chance to leave their village and attend the nearest high school. Your gift will provide education for one year for a student.

The Need
Only 8 children out of 100 have the opportunity to attend high school, 5 out of every 100 people have paying jobs, and the life expectancy is 36 years, and declining in Zambia. While a high school education cannot guarantee a person a job, without one, they will definitely be kept from further opportunities. All jobs besides subsistent farming require at least a high school education in Zambia. Learning English gives a person an advantage, (they’re taught English in the high schools) and even if they cannot afford to go to college, they can continue to learn to read on their own and compete in society. Unfortunately, high school education is not free in Zambia. This is a huge barrier to advancing education in Zambia and most Zambians drop out and remain speaking a tribal language, frozen in time with out any other opportunities.
About Zambia's Scholarship Fund
Partner since November, 2008
The Zambia’s Scholarship Fund is changing the tide of illiteracy one teacher at a time. Education is a top priority for the Zambian people, 90% of whom live in extreme poverty. Although they have no running water, electricity or even (in many cases) food to eat, every community builds a school, even if it interferes with the harvest. Often times, the school is the only building in the community, besides the huts people sleep in. Despite this, the illiteracy rate in Northern Zambia is at an unbelievable 83% because elementary schools do not have teachers. Zambia's Scholarship Fund tries to address this problem by also training teachers and paying teachers to go to remote elementary schools in Zambia.
