Rescue Nepali Children from Severe Malnutrition
Your gift to Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF) will help rescue Nepali children suffering from severe malnutrition. The project funds and manages Nutritional Rehabilitation Homes for severely malnourished children in Kathmandu and in rural areas of Nepal. The children and their mothers come to live at these centers, where NYF staff restores the child's health while educating the mother in child care, including preparation of nutritious meals, using foods readily available in rural Nepal. Once the child returns home, NRH field workers follow up to ensure the child’s health is being maintained.

The Need
The problem of malnourished children with huge bellies, glassy eyes, and sticks for arms and legs is overwhelming in Nepal. Half the children under five are malnourished and poor nourishment is one of the leading causes of death for young children in Nepal. As a result of nutrition programs like this, Nepal's infant and child mortality has been declining but there is still a long way to go.
