The Need
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) 10% of all individuals in Bangladesh are classified as disabled. The large and growing number of disabled come from Road Traffic Accidents (RTA), Industrial accidents, Illnesses like Post Polio Complication, Cerebral Pulsy, Congenital Deformity, Club Foot, Foot Drop, Stroke, Loss of Limb due to Diabetic Gangrene, and Burger disease. A survey report on road traffic accidents by the WHO states that 15,000 patients are amputated each year in Bangladesh. Moreover, children are found suffering from Congenital Physical abnormalities. This disabled population lead an isolated life due to their impairment and are also non-productive due to extreme negligence of the families and by the society. The restoration of mobility in rehabilitation can be accomplished by means of the provision of orthosises, prosthesises, assistive and mobility aids. However, the rehabilitation facilities for the disabled both in government and the private sector are insufficient to address the increasing need.
Proof of Impact
For each sponsored service, you will receive a before and after photo of the patient receiving a brace or limb.

Its goal is to support the disabled population with rehabilitation aids and services using appropriate technology.
BLBC's objectives include providing user friendly, quality artificial limbs and braces, to train beneficiaries on use and mobility with new appliances, to deliver physiotherapy services, and to provide information, education, and counseling services to the disabled and their families. Funds raised through this partnership will be designated to disabled persons that apply for services at BLBC who can not afford to pay.
