Support Computer Literacy in Rural Guatemala
Your donation to Roots & Wings International Computer Literacy program will provide introductory computer training for impoverished rural youth in rural Guatemala. The purpose of this program is to provide children an avenue to gain and access knowledge that will allow them to pursue employment beyond subsistence farming.

The Need
60% of the population in Guatemala does not graduate from elementary school and rural communities suffer up to 70% illiteracy. By investing in elementary students who live on household incomes of 2 USD or less per day, we encourage children and prepare them to continue beyond elementary school. Our computer literacy for kids program is one way to encourage students to seek and use information, and to stimulate their school learning. Roots & Wings International has five donated computers currently available for students in the village of Pasac in Nahualá Sololá, approximately 3.5 hours of Guatemala City. Children of all ages wait in line for their turn to learn how to use a computer. The computer lab serves 250 children aged 5 to 11. The computer lab is open every weekday.
Proof of Impact
For every gift, you will receive information about the student who receives computer training. Gifts of $5 will receive photo and name of student. $30 gifts will receive photo, name and additional information about the student. If you support a student for one full year - $60 gift - you will receive a photo, student name, additional student information, and a report card on the student's computer progress at end of the calendar year.
