Preparing indigenous children in rural Guatemala to succeed in school is vital to helping them break the cycle of extreme poverty. Your gift to this project will pay for an entire year of tutoring for a k'iche'-speaking elementary student in the village of Pasac in Nahualá Sololá.

In Liberia, where the average life expectancy is 46 years old and the GDP is the 2nd lowest in the world, education can make all the difference. You can help provide girls (many orphans, street children, and former sex workers), with the educational tools they need to live better lives. Your support will provide a girl with a scholarship to attend school as well as with uniforms, books, supplies, and a matched mentor. Additionally, the girls learn proper nutrition, are provided with immunizations, and learn about disease transmission prevention as well as learn to read and write.

Your donations go towards many aspects of attaining an education in Nepal.  You can help to cover all the costs associated with these women’s education including tuition, books, room and board fees, uniforms and transportation fees.

Educational Empowerment (EE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to  providing access to an educational environment in Myanmar that improves children's future economic opportunites and affords them fundamental reading skills. With your help, libraries in rural kindergartens will receive a selection of Myanmar script children's books, locally produced and tailor made to meet the needs of these early readers. With your help, Burmese children will be introduced to the joy of reading and teachers will be provided the tools to promote active learning. 

TAF Academy is a public 6-12 grade school that prepares underserved children of color to graduate from high school on-time and college-ready to pursue degrees in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Academic support and enrichment opportunities are provided to all students and specialized attention is given to students in need of academic and language support. Your gift in support of TAF Academy's students will help TAF to continue to provide free educational opportunities for underserved children of color in Seattle.

The Baraka Children's Center and its director support local orphaned children, many of whom are HIV positive, with foster placements and crucial supplies such as food, clothing, shoes, and books. Your donation will support adequate healthy meals essential to sick children on HIV medication, clothing, and school fees so that orphaned children can attend the local school.

You can be the spark that inspires a child to pursue a career in science!   You can help bring science to life for low income and minority youth by sponsoring participation in the Ron McNair Camp-In, a private, overnight event at Pacific Science Center in partnership with Blacks in Science. At the Ron McNair Camp-In, low income and minority youth explore everything Pacific Science Center has to offer. Campers will experience all of the science exhibits with the help of trained science interpreters; participate in a hands-on science inquiry workshop taught by carefully selected teachers; see a planetarium show and live science stage show; and enjoy an educational IMAX® movie.

Kaya Children brings new hope to children on the street in La Paz, Bolivia. You can help by providing housing, education, counseling, family support and life skills training to abandoned children on the streets, giving them a chance to reinvent their future.
