Provide Business Opportunities for Peruvian Women
Develop a Global Partnership for Development
Help Awamaki provide workshops to women weavers. These women come from Quechua-speaking indigenous communities in the remote Andean highlands. Most cannot speak Spanish, read or write. Your support helps Awamaki offer skills-building workshops that helps improve the quality of their weavings so they fetch a higher price. Your support also helps Awamaki offer training in financial management and leadership so that the women can manage their own cooperative membership, orders and communal savings fund.
Provide a Life Changing Surgery in Bolivia
Improve Maternal Health
Of all the work Esperança conducts, none has more dramatic effect than our surgical missions. Each mission is dedicated to either general surgery or a surgical specialty such as plastic surgery, orthopedic, ophthalmology, pediatric, gynecology, and urology. All operations performed significantly improve quality of life for our patients and in some cases are life-saving. Volunteer surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses come from throughout the U.S., procuring medical supplies for their mission and paying their own travel expenses. Each team travels 1-2 weeks and accomplishes between 40 and 50 surgeries. While our doctors are in the host country we provide training to local health professionals. A full surgical mission costs $7000 or $156 per patient.

Many of these children have little access to fresh fruits and vegetables despite living in an agriculturally rich country, negatively impacting their physical development.
Transform the Lives of Bolivian Children
Before coming to the Friends of Orphans home, most of the children face really difficult and sad situations in their past. In order to find a way back to normal life in their new home, psychologists are on staff that help the children. You can help transform the lives of these kids by sponsoring sessions with a psychologist for one child.
