Help free Nepali girls from indentured slavery, a practice referred to as “Kamlari.” In a centuries-old custom, impoverished families have sold their daughters, as young as six-years-old, into bonded servitude. Working closely with local communities, NYF helps liberate these girls and bring them home. As an alternative to the money earned from selling their daughters, NYF provides each family with a piglet, goat or sheep. These animals are highly valued in this culture, and, when sold, provide as much or more profit than the daughter’s labor. Your gift to NYF will help to ensure these girls are freed from the Kamlari custom, are returned home and are given the opportunity of an education, which for most of them is only a dream.

Send Kids to Science Camps in America
The camp subsidy program gives youth the opportunity to participate in Pacific Science Center's Camps for Curious Minds, regardless of the family's income or life circumstance. The family is asked to contribute to the camp's fee at a level that is affordable, and scholarship funds are used to cover the remaining amount.
